A day in the life of a Functional Assessor

8:45 am - 9:00 am

We usually start our work day at 8:45 a.m. and have team meetings to share updates and celebrate colleague achievements. These sessions help us stay connected and feel part of the team, even while working from home.

I use this time to review my case boards, emails and catch up with colleagues - Alissia

9:00 am - 4:30 pm

We would review the assigned cases and read through the questionnaires and evidences submitted. We usually spend around 30 - 60 minutes assessing each clients (over the phone or in person) before completing a report to send to the DWP. After this we will pick up the next case.

We have dedicated Clinical Standards Leads (CSLs) who are there to support us with any clinical or procedural questions. - Claire

Wait! It is not always the same...

... With the variety of roles and training available to Functional Assessors, we may spend time auditing, coaching, or even completing appraisals as part of our working day. These activities reflect the breadth of responsibilities within the company and adds diversity to our role.

4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

As a team, we have buzz calls where we talk through any interesting or challenging cases. Team Managers and CSLs join to provide updates and highlight recurring themes identified in audits.
