Let’s hear from Hannaa
What does your typical day at work look like?
I start my day by completing six initial reviews, which take around an hour in total. This is additional work that I have received extra training for, as not everyone undertakes this part of the role. I then carry out three face‑to‑face or telephone assessments, reviewing each client’s questionnaire and any evidence they have submitted. I complete a full report for every assessment.
Support is always available from my team and from a clinical lead on a designated advice line. We also have dedicated team times when we can discuss cases or simply connect and chat about life.
How would you describe Maximus as a company?
Supportive! I really feel that nothing is judged and people are so open.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
It is definitely knowing that I am helping people and making a difference in supporting their independence. During face‑to‑face assessments, seeing individuals relax and feel at ease is also very gratifying.
Are there any opportunities for clinical development within your role?
There is constant development and training available and there are plenty of opportunities to train and learn more. Assessors can get trained in audit, clinical coaching and other roles to progress within the company. The managers supports assessors in getting promoted by creating plans and actions in monthly one to one meetings to discuss this.
How would you describe the work life balance within your role?
Some colleagues including myself work from 8 am to 4 am and other colleagues work 9 am to 5 pm.
Once the work is done, you can simply close your laptop and enjoy life outside of work.
