About the role.
You’ll carry out functional assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life, and produce factual reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. From September, this will include PIP assessments and Work Capability Assessments (WCA) as part of the Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS).
Every assessment is different – you might work on complex cases involving veterans or neurological conditions, industrial injuries and respiratory diseases. We’ll make sure you get the time you need with each customer to undertake a quality and respectful assessment.
- A GMC registered doctor with at least 1 year’s broad post-registration experience in the UK
- A proactive and keen learner with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Someone who is comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
- An expert clinician comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including complex cases and mental health

Competitive salary
We offer a competitive salary of £72,000, paid overtime, a £1,000 incentive for achieving accreditation within four months, and the opportunity to earn up to a 10% performance bonus, paid quarterly. There are also additional company-wide benefits, including our referral programme.

Revalidation support
We have a dedicated team that will support you through the revalidation process, and ensure you meet your revalidation requirements through ongoing CPD. We'll also reimburse your revalidation fees.

Continuing medical education
We provide protected time for CPD and clinical development, which counts towards your revalidation. We also host an annual Clinical Conference to broaden your clinical knowledge and share learnings from other teams and senior clinicians at Maximus.

Family paid leave
We offer leading maternity and paternity packages for doctors who join our team. Colleagues are entitled to 18 weeks of full maternity pay (including adoption and surrogacy) and six weeks of full paternity pay.
